Dr. M.I.G. Suranga Sampath works as a Senior Assistant Librarian of the Library, University of Kelaniya. He earned his B.Sc. Special Degree in Mathematics with honors from University of Ruhuna in 2008.

Dr. M.I.G. Suranga Sampath works as a Senior Assistant Librarian of the Library, University of Kelaniya. He earned his B.Sc. Special Degree in Mathematics with honors from University of Ruhuna in 2008. He obtained his MSSc in Library and Information Science in 2014 from University of Kelaniya. In 2014, he received the Chinese Government Scholarship to pursue his postgraduate degree and, he completed PhD in the field of Probability and Mathematical Statistics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China in 2019.

During 2020, he has published one research paper in Science Citation Indexed journal and one book chapter in the springer book series"Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS)". Dr. Sampath received the Vice-Chancellor's award as the Outstanding Early Career Researcher of the Library, University of Kelaniya in 2020. Also, he received one Senate Award for his research papers published in Science Citation Indexed journals in 2020. Further, he presented his research findings at the 23rd International Conference on Distributed Computer and Communication Networks: Control, Computation, Communications in Moscow, Russia. He has worked as a scientific reviewer for several international conferences and he is a reviewer of a few peer reviewed, Science Citation Indexed journals.
