The Library of the University of Kelaniya received an award of appreciation by Emerald Publishing Group in the United Kingdom for being the Top user of Emerald Content 2019/2020

The Library of the University of Kelaniya received an award of appreciation by Emerald Publishing Group in the United Kingdom for being the Top user of Emerald Content 2019/2020. The award was not presented by Emerald Publishing Group this time due to COVID 19 pandemic. However, they have informed us through Emil that the University of Kelaniya Library is eligible for this award in 2020.

From the inception of the library to the present, books and monographs damaged due to various reasons were sent for recycling by the library with the labor contribution of the staff. It was able to contribute to the University earning about Rs 200,000. Also it enabled us to make the library a more attractive place by being able to reuse a large space in the library premises.

The University of Kelaniya gratefully presented an award to the Librarian and the library staff under the category of ‘Appreciation for Significant Contribution’ for their outstanding service made to the 60th Anniversary of the University.
