The University of Kelaniya hosted the highly anticipated Ceremony of Long Service Awards and Vice-Chancellor’s Awards 2025 on the 1st of January 2025 at the Dharmaloka Hall.
This event celebrated the dedication and outstanding contributions of academic, administrative, and non-academic staff members who have excelled in their respective fields.
In a proud moment for the University of Kelaniya Library, the library’s website was recognized as one of the best within the university, earning the Best Website in the University - First Runner-Up award. This prestigious accolade reflects the library’s commitment to digital excellence and innovation in providing user-friendly, accessible, and resource-rich online platforms. The award was proudly received by Mr. Kasun Munasinghe, the Library Web Master, whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental in achieving this recognition.
The ceremony also highlighted the exceptional achievements of library staff members:
Mrs. K. S. Gajasinghe, Staff Assistant/Library Services of the Main Library, was honored with a Gold Medal and Certificate under the category of Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Executive Officers, Academic Support Staff, and Non-academic Staff for 2024.
Mr. G. L. N. C. Kumarasiri, Library Information Assistant Grade I of the Main Library, and Mr. A. S. P. Ahangama, Library Information Assistant Grade III of the Main Library, received Plaques and Certificates under the same category, recognizing their outstanding contributions to library services.
These accolades are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and excellence demonstrated by the University of Kelaniya Library team in supporting the academic and research community.
