Recently, the Sociology Students’ Association of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya made a donation of over 100 books written on Sociology and related disciplines to the Main Library of the University of Kelaniya.
This donation was made to increase the number of reading materials in the main library written in local languages in the discipline of sociology and related areas. The donated books were officially handed over to the Librarian, Dr. C.C. Jayasundara, at the Librarians’ Office on 04th October 2022. Mr. Lahiru Pathirathna, President of the Sociology Students’ Association, led the project along with other officers of the Association. Professor D.M. Ubesekara Dissanayake, Head of the Department of Sociology, and Professor K.M. Geethani Amaratunga of the Department of Sociology were also present at the occasion. This book donation program was coordinated by Dr. Tharanga Ranasinghe, Subject Liaison Librarian for the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.
