German day was celebrated at the University of Kelaniya on the 11th of November 2022 at the Main library premises of the University.
An exhibition was organized by the Main Library of the University, parallel to the celebrations at the German Section of the Department of Modern Languages, Faculty of Humanities. This exhibition was organized with the objective of increasing the knowledge and understanding of the German language, culture, and literature and disseminating information on higher education opportunities in Germany.
Moreover, library resources related to the German language and literature were also exhibited at the occasion while the exhibition was open to the entire university community.
Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice-Chancellor of the University graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dilrukshi Rathnayake, Head of the Department of Modern Languages, other members of the academic staff and students of the German Section participated in this event.
